Farcical, but...not funny. Although they all appear to be guilty, vicious bastards, none of them seem to have the sense to pour piss out of a boot. Hell, they'd rather wear a piss filled boot than show the sense to empty the goddamn thing! If I'm the Boss of a  Sunni Security Company, and a bunch of Shiite Government Commandos start raiding my operation I'm not letting the fuckers in without a fight, unless I know for certain that either a: we're guilty and they are really legitimate or, b.  I asked the bastards to come in. When the daily toll of dead bodies starts plugging up the freaking water treatment plants as it did in Baghdad this week, we are beyond an "insurgency" whatever the hell that is and at least at the stage that some of my southern friends used to refer to as the "late unpleasantness between the states..." if not just total genocide and insanity.  If Kissinger was in charge, there'd be a Strangelovian aspect to this with the German accent and all that; but, not devotee of realpolitik could get excited about this lunacy...Rumsfeld and Cheney are starting to spiritually resemble Montgomery Burns, rubbing their hands together and saying "Excellent..." I'm just trying to figure out who's Smithers? Or is it an orgy of irresponsible nitwits and people who should know better?...

Last year I remember hearing about "the Salvador option" being utilized in Iraq. I think that's come true with the explosion of Shi'ite death squads infiltrating the security forces. But Salvador was an ideological conflict, this here is an ethnic/religious one. So who knows what will happen. They'll all just slaughter each other and then let Allah sort it out...
